In the small empty home of my father, I witnessed first-hand the transformation of labour-power from the active process of producing use-values into the passive process of producing nothing but materialized form of exchange-value. And then, in the shape of a superabundance of capital, shift after shift in the factory system, which, just like the spinning revolution, cuts from the social product the substance of living labour. Expenditure in this labour-power appears as revenue to the individual laborer, and the revenue disappears with the work.
